Dangers of Loose Teeth with Gum Disease

Dangers of Loose Teeth with Gum DiseaseIt's common for people to experience loose teeth when they are children. It's a normal part of growing up.

However, adults who experience loose teeth may be at risk for gum disease or already have it. Loose teeth pose many problems for adults, and no matter the circumstance, it's important to get them checked immediately.

Loose teeth indicate a problem with your gums. Adult teeth become loose when they have become decayed. Decay happens when bacteria in the mouth have eaten through the enamel of the teeth and possibly through the dentin. After the bacteria have gone through the enamel and dentin of a tooth, the gums are at risk for infection. Gum infection leads to gum disease, which may be irreversible.

Do You Have A Gum Problem?

Gum disease affects many people all throughout the world. Though it affects many people, some people don't realize the disastrous effects it can have on their oral health. Having loose teeth while also having gum disease is dangerous because those teeth are at risk for being lost. Loose teeth indicate that the gum around the area of the tooth is infected with bacteria.

Teeth that are loose may fall out of your mouth unexpectedly. What's worse is that they may need to be removed from your mouth. When a tooth is removed, there are a few ways to restore than, however, once a tooth is gone, it's gone for good. Many people who suffer from tooth loss get dental implants. Dental implants are an expensive option for tooth restoration, but it may be the only way to protect your mouth against more decay or advanced gum disease.

If you've noticed loose teeth recently, please give us a call. Loose teeth are an indication of serious dental problems. The longer you wait to solve this problem, the more likely you will lose your teeth permanently.
